Radio/TV/Web Links

Thom Hartmann - the Dean of progressive talkers, and the #1 liberal host in the nation.   Originates from Washington, DC.

Peter B. Collins - long-time radio veteran and pioneering progressive broadcaster has been heard in various forms on the West Coast for decades.   He considers himself and "independent progressive", and shows it with the truth bombs he lobs in the direction of those he deems deserve it - especially progressives-in-name-only.

Head On Radio Network - Bob Kincaid - based out of West Virginia.   Bob's internet-only shows are as entertaining and informative as anything you can find on the dial.  One of the pioneers of internet-only radio broadcasting.

White Rose Society - an archival service of current and past progressive radio shows.   Ben Burch does a sterling job on a shoestring budget - good karma awaits those who send a few bucks his way.

Mike Malloy - if you are in any way a right-winger, do not meet this man in a dark alley.    Bruises await your ass cheeks if you dare.  Broadcasts from Georgia.

Democracy Now - Amy Goodman's outlet.   One of the few real news outlets remaining in the U.S.

Pacifica Radio - the national foundation website.    They were doing progressive radio decades before the rise and fall of Air America.  Somebody from AAR should have been taking notes...

RT - A new (to America) outlet.   Thom Hartmann's TV show The Big Picture is found here.   Abby Martin's Breaking The Set is also a good view - at this writing, they still archive her show.    It should be said that while this outlet is decidedly left-leaning, they do throw a fair number of journalistic bombs at lefties-in-name-only when warranted.

Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp -  You might have seen him on his Youtube "reality" videos or in Peter Joseph's excellent Culture In Decline series.    He's a bit of an acquired taste, and in my opinion, probably the edgiest comedy news host on TV, even more so than John Oliver.  He brings the zingers, and gets humorous (if occasionally irritating) support from John F. O'Donnell and company.

The Real News Network - one of the newer Internet news video sites.   Paul Jay (the CEO and one of the hosts) and his cohorts do fantastic work with their presentations, and what's more - no commercials, no CPB funding, no corporate BS.   More good karma awaits those who contribute a few $$ per month - $10/month or more gets you a goodie of your choice (t-shirt, DVD, book, etc.).

teleSUR English - A new, South American outlet, where Abby Martin now has her excellent show The Empire Files.

The Sane Progressive - Long-time progressive activist Debbie Lusignan hosts this v-blog, whose mission appears to be establishing the progressive case against Hillary Clinton.   She makes her case well, being careful to draw her information from neutral and progressive sources and citing those sources below her Youtube videos.   The done-on-a-shoestring nature of this v-blog - just her in her home, with her computer and a microphone, and the occasional audio sound bite from name-your-media-source, sets it apart from much of the more slickly-produced fare seen in the progressive e-media.   I admit that she can be somewhat grating at times, but she's passionate about her beliefs and - more-importantly - fact-based.
